Career Compass JA

Privacy Policy

Effective 28 September 2026

The short version

Career Compass JA does not ask for your name, email, phone number or location, and there are no accounts. What you do in the app stays on your phone. The only thing we collect is an anonymous count of which careers are viewed, so we can show Trending Careers.

What we collect

When you open a career, the app sends that career's ID (for example, "dentist") and the time to our database. Nothing that identifies you or your device is attached. These counts are used only to rank Trending Careers.

Our database provider (Supabase) may briefly process technical information such as your IP address to deliver the request, as any internet service does. We do not use it to identify you.

What stays on your phone

Your quiz answers and results, saved careers, roadmap, CSEC/CAPE subjects, application deadline reminders and theme choice are stored only on your device. We can't see them. If Android backup is turned on, your phone may include this data in your own Google backup.

What we don't do

Permissions

Sharing

If you share your quiz result, the app creates an image and hands it to the app you choose. We don't receive a copy.

Children

The app is designed for students, including those under 18. Because it collects no personal information, it is safe to use without an account or parental sign-up.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android Settings, removes everything stored on your phone. The anonymous career-view counts can't be linked back to you, so there is nothing personal to delete on our side.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the updated version will appear here and in the app with a new effective date. Questions? Email careercompasja@gmail.com.
